Butler, Purdue headline fifth annual Indy Classic at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The fifth annual Indy Classic at Gainbridge Fieldhouse will feature two local teams (Butler and Purdue) and two from out of state (Georgia Tech and Colorado).
Gainbridge Fieldhouse will host four teams in the fifth annual Indy Classic on Saturday, Dec. 19.
Butler will face Georgia Tech for the first time in program history, followed by Purdue against Colorado.
The event is hosted by Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Russ Potts Productions.
“Gainbridge Fieldhouse was built to host the best in basketball, and we’re proud to once again welcome this doubleheader while supporting the Indiana Sports Corp and their mission,” said Mel Raines, President & CEO of PS&E.
“The Indy Classic offers teams and fans a fun, action-packed day, creating memories and highlighting the energy that college basketball brings to downtown Indy.”
The four participating teams are now set, while tip times, television designations, and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
“The Indy Classic has quickly become one of the nation’s premier early-season college basketball showcases,” said Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty. “We’re excited to welcome Butler, Georgia Tech, Purdue, and Colorado to Indianapolis and continue providing an outstanding experience for student-athletes, coaches, and fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.”
The Fieldhouse is already scheduled to host two Indiana University basketball games this fall:
