After the Indiana Fever revoked my credentialed access, I want readers to understand what happened, why I stand by the reporting, and what it means for future coverage.
This is disturbing. I remember when the Pacers needed coverage from the press. Now they have cut it off. So disappointing. As tax paying citizens we do much to enrich the professional teams in our city. Having coverage by professional journalists is a reasonable expectation. Freedom of the press is guaranteed in the Constitution.
Sucks to hear, you're where I get all my Pacers and Fever coverage. Respect that you're an independent journalist and do all this on your own. Just feels targeted. Love your work. Gonna stick by ya!
For a team to continually narrow the access to the flow of information says there's more going on than meets the eye. NO OTHER LEAGUE polices and selects those who cover it like this. One must wonder, WHY? I'm not one given to conspiracy theories, but this is not an isolated incident in which the flow of information coming out of it and into coverage is tightly controlled. I'm worried for Caitlin and the other Fever girls. This is NOT a healthy work environment. Keep your chin up and watch your back. Keep your journalistic integrity and stay focused. Hopefully dark things will come to light sooner rather than later.
I am flabbergasted. You are the best Fever reporter, and everything you have done has been with the top standards of journalism - something that is under attack in the political realm as well as sports. Thank you for this update; I have been worried about what was going on during a week with lots of Fever controversy.
I'm staying with you as a subscriber, and will look forward to whatever Fever reporting you can do.
Excellent post. You explained everything thoroughly and were totally transparent. Pacers and Fever are wrong. You are an honest, independent journalist who is very professional. I’m not going anywhere. Keep up the good work.
Very disturbing. As others have stated you are my main source for both Pacer and Fever news. I appreciate the research that you do to get stories correct. Too many media members just read and repeat headlines these days.
I am sorry to hear about the unfortunate turn of events. You and Bob Kravitz are my go-to sources of Indy sports . Although year-round coverage of the Pacers and Fever can be brutal and relentless, you have stayed the course. I admire your courage to move forward despite this setback. I am sure you will be rewarded for your efforts. Keep up the great work.
I’ve got to say when I originally read this, from my seats at the Fieldhouse, I will say I found the particular phrase provocative.
Provocative is a good thing. I don’t enjoy mock-pseudo-trades and the click bait bullshit available from the replacement writers at other sites that used to be respectable. As you noted that phrase represents a reasoned approach. I expect we’re gonna hear the same about another popular point guard coming back from injury in a few months.
I enjoy your coverage, and intend to keep my subscription(s) but unilateral actions from PSE will make it hard for many to justify the cost proposition associated with independent journalists actually making a living for their craft… and that sucks.
Will respect whatever decisions you have to make. And come find me at a game some time and let me buy you a beer in appreciation of your transparency and coverage.
How disappointing - keep up the good work (from a happily paying subscriber)

Scott this is horrible, I’m sorry. I don’t agree with the Fever’s decision AT ALL. You reported facts. I’m not sure what the issue is.

That's some serious BS Scott, sorry to hear that. Miss you having that Pacers access especially!

Welp, this sucks.

We NEED independent media, now more than ever. Keep up the good work, Scott.
