Andrew Nembhard’s business trip to Paris ended abruptly on Tuesday.

Playing for the Canadian National Team, the Indiana Pacers guard will not get a medal after the team lost to France 82-73 in a quarterfinal matchup. They fell behind 19-5 and trailed the entire game.

The final three days of games moved from Lille, France to Paris and inside Bercy Arena (15,900). And before Team USA dominated Brazil (122-87), Canada faced the host team, which made for a loud environment. It was a true road game.

And France outworked and outplayed them the entire way. They played together and received boosts from unlikely sources — such as Guerschon Yabusele (22 points, 5 rebounds) and Isaia Cordinier (20 points). Neither play in the NBA.

Conversely, 10 of 12 players on Canada are currently in the NBA.
