Pacers' broadcast team receives four Emmy nominations for 2021
Announcers Chris Denari and Quinn Buckner are both nominees for Best Sports Talent.
The Pacers’ broadcast team on Bally Sports Indiana received four sports Emmy nominations. Each year, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) hands out hardware to winners in what they call “the most prestigious, peer-judged honor in television for outstanding creative achievement.”
Indiana television stations and regional networks participate in the Great Lakes Regional Emmy Awards. The winners will be announced on June 25th at the annual awards gala, which is scheduled to be held at the Lucas Estate in Carmel, Indiana.
Nominations were announced on Thursday morning and Bally Sports Indiana received four nominations across three categories.
Live Sports Program: Pacers Live Pregame Show (Remembering Slick Leonard)
Live Sporting Event: Pacers home opener
Sports Talent: Play-by-play announcer Chris Denari
Sports Talent: Analyst Quinn Buckner
Buckner has served as the TV analyst for 23 seasons and the Denari/Buckner pairing just completed their 16th season together.
According to SBJ data in late February, Bally Sports Indiana's ratings ranked ninth across the NBA (1.95) as the Pacers were on their way to their worst record since the ‘80s.
