Caitlin Clark played in the last two NCAA Women’s National Championship Games, leading the University of Iowa to the sport’s biggest stage. So it was only fitting that on Sunday afternoon, she made an appearance during the 2025 title game broadcast.

Clark was the final (and featured) guest on ESPN’s alternate broadcast — “The Bird & Taurasi Show.” Her interview during the second half stood out even more as UConn crushed South Carolina 82-59.

As Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi tried to cheers to kick things off, Clark subtly turned a Gatorade can to face the camera — a savvy nod to one of her sponsors. She filmed a new commercial for the brand last month at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Then came a well-timed zinger from Taurasi after Clark congratulated her on retirement. “Unfortunately, reality is coming to me now,” Taurasi joked with a grin — a callback to her viral quote about Clark last year, when she warned that "reality is coming" ahead of Clark’s move to the WNBA.
