One week after the Indiana Fever’s season came to an end in Las Vegas, losing the best-of-three series 2-1, Caitlin Clark answered questions for 21 minutes on Thursday from a select group of invited media members.
Her exit interview had been pushed back from Saturday because of a unique opportunity: serving as the guest picker on ESPN’s “College GameDay” at the University of Iowa.
Not surprisingly, it became the most-watched episode of the season and the third most-watched regular-season episode ever. The final hour, featuring Clark and her picks, averaged 3.7 million viewers.
Just the latest example of Clark being The Needle.
Clark said she’s been playing 18 holes of golf every day after staying away from the course during the season due to her schedule and back concerns.
So before heading out to play Thursday, she arrived in the Bob Collins-Wayne Fusion Media Interview Room at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in a gray Nike Fever hoodie, ready to answer questions from media — and by extension, you fans.
