'I can't imagine a more perfect fit': Caitlin Clark drafted No. 1 by Indiana Fever
Read what Iowa guard Caitlin Clark said after the Fever drafted her with the top overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
At 7:40 p.m. ET Monday night, Caitlin Clark officially became a member of the Indiana Fever.
General manager Lin Dunn said it took 15, maybe 20 seconds to turn in the official Fever draft card to the league.
"Caitlin Clark is coming to Indianapolis,” she said a short while later before returning to the draft war room. “She's going to have a huge impact not only our city, but our franchise too."
The Fever then selected 5-foot-11 fifth-year guard Celeste Taylor out of Ohio State with the 15th pick.
After hugging WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert on stage and being interviewed on the telecast, Clark then answered questions from the media gathered at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).

Now that you're officially the No. 1 pick, what about your game do you feel like is going to translate best over to the W and specifically in Indiana?
Yeah, I think the biggest thing is definitely my passing. I think that's at times what gets overlooked in my game. I think the scoring and the long shots is what everybody falls in love with. Then obviously going to an organization that has, in my eyes, one of the best post players in the entire world. My point guard eyes just light up at that. And obviously, Aliyah has been one of my teammates before. I'm excited. I can't wait.
Who's your biggest rival going into the season?
