Full-go, no easing in: Indiana Fever maximizing camp time ahead of Friday's preseason game | VIDEO
After a two-a-day on Sunday, the Indiana Fever returned to practice Monday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Hear from Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, NaLyssa Smith and Erica Wheeler.
So much for easing into the season.
There can be none of that for the Indiana Fever and the rest of the WNBA. Training camp opened on Sunday, media day will be held on Wednesday and they have a lot to get done before departing for Dallas on Thursday for their first of two preseason games.
Starting guard Kelsey Mitchell could only watch to start camp as she’s currently dealing with an ankle injury suffered during USA 3x3 training. “Hopefully sooner than later,” coach Christie Sides said. “She has done the work.”
Mitchell could be seen shooting around and riding a stationary bike.
Otherwise, all attention is on Caitlin Clark and the new-look Fever. There is a lot of pressure on Clark and the team to perform, and they’re embracing it.
Primarily, Sides in emphasizing conditioning, pace, defense and finishing games.
After practice on Monday, several players met with reporters to talk about camp and provide an update on what things have gone. You can watch those in the media players below.
