Indianapolis to host 2028 Women's Final Four at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Indy's hosted the event three times previously, including twice at The Fieldhouse (2011, 2016).
The NCAA women’s basketball Final Four is returning to Indianapolis, and to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a third time.
On Monday, the NCAA announced the host cities for 2027-31 and Indianapolis is part of that group, along with Columbus (2027), San Antonio (2029), Portland (2030) and Dallas (2031).
The games in Indy will be held on March 31 and April 2.
Indy last hosted the women’s final four in 2016, when Connecticut easily defeated Syracuse to cap off a perfect 38-0 season and win a fourth straight championship.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver attended that championship game.
Note that may only interest me: Come 2028, The Fieldhouse will have hosted the event three times and each time under a different name.
2011: Conseco Fieldhouse
2016: Bankers Life Fieldhouse
2028: Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The event was held at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis back in 2005. Indiana Sports Corp., the Horizon League and IUPUI will serve as hosts.
Indianapolis is scheduled to host the 2026 men's basketball Final Four again in 2026 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
