Gatorade launches Caitlin Clark commercial, installs massive banner in downtown Indy
Caitlin Clark has been an Indy resident for just three weeks, but there's already a 15-story banner of her outside a prominent downtown hotel, part of Gatorade's new ad campaign.
Caitlin Clark is larger than life in downtown Indianapolis.
No, really.
Gatorade had a massive banner of the Indiana Fever rookie guard installed on the west side of the Hyatt Regency hotel, located just a half mile from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where Clark plays her home games.
And it was completed just days before the home opener on Thursday against the New York Liberty.
“It’s pretty cool,” Clark said after morning shootaround.
“There are a lot of people that are very aware,” she said of her brief time in Indy. “Even when I have my hood up, people still know who I am and are just so excited about our team and this summer. I didn’t really know what to expect coming here, like how aware people would be or how many people would recognize me. But really, it hasn’t changed at all from Iowa City. You can tell the excitement and the buzz around the city for this team, for myself — it really hasn’t changed in any regard.
“I think that’s honestly been something that’s been an adjustment, but it’s also been super cool to see how invested people are in the Indiana Fever.”
Clark, who stars in several national campaigns with major brands, is also featured in a new commercial spot with Gatorade.
