Gordon Hayward retires from NBA after 14 seasons

Hayward, the proud Brownsburg and Butler product, enters the next chapter of his life after a successful NBA career. Film production, golf, and who knows what else.

Hayward played for the Jazz, Celtics, Hornets and Thunder.

Indiana’s own Gordon Hayward has called it a career.

After 14 seasons in the NBA, the Brownsburg native made his decision to retire official at 10 a.m. ET on Aug. 1. He moves on from the NBA after stops in Utah, Boston, Charlotte, and a brief time in Oklahoma City.

Hayward, 34, could have continued playing for another year or two. He’s healthy and multiple teams were interested, but he ultimately decided that the time was right.
