PUMA and Tyrese Haliburton roll out Hali 1 Opal shoes with Indy-exclusive release
PUMA will host “Hali Mart” on Thursday in downtown Indianapolis, releasing 317 pairs of the Hali 1 Opal colorway with Tyrese Haliburton and designer Salehe Bembury on hand.
Tyrese Haliburton’s first signature shoe becomes available this week.
Haliburton, a signature player with PUMA, worked hands-on with the apparel company on his shoe, the design, the launch and more. That level of collaboration was part of why he was so interested in signing with them almost one year ago, switching from Nike.
The line is called the Hali 1s — which is significant considering how much Haliburton resisted the ‘Hali’ nickname for years, particularly early in his career in Sacramento.
But when the idea was pitched to him, he didn’t fight it. Instead, he’s leaning all the way into it, evening changing his profile on X (formerly Twitter) handle to @Hali.
Haliburton debuted a pink version of the Hali 1s in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. PUMA also released an “Overrate That” t-shirt during the Pacers’ playoff run.
Now it’s time for the ‘Opal’ colorway, designed in collaboration with Salehe Brembury.
To celebrate the launch of the Hali 1 Opal, PUMA is hosting a one-day pop-up event with Foot Locker in downtown Indianapolis on Thursday afternoon. They’re calling it Hali Mart, with 317 pairs available — tying the release to Indy’s 317 identity.
It’s a special pre-launch, exclusively for Indy.
The pop-up runs from 3 to 7 p.m. ET, with Haliburton and Bembury scheduled to appear, at 901 N Pennsylvania St.
The shoe retails for $130 and will be released elsewhere on Friday, Sept. 26 — through PUMA, along with Foot Locker and Champs Sports.
