After three days of practice, the Indiana Fever took a break from basketball to complete a necessary step before every season: media day.
It has, however, evolved into more of a content day for teams — featuring headshots, promotional photo and video shoots, broadcast and in-house television interviews, and production for the intro video, and more.
There are more than two dozen stations for players to rotate through.
One of those stops includes interviews with local media.
General manager Amber Cox kicked off the day shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by head coach Stephanie White.
From there, each of the 16 players took turns at the microphone, answering questions from local reporters. The lone absence was Damiris Dantas, who has yet to report to camp due to work visa issues.
The most viral moment from the day came from Caitlin Clark — surprise, surprise — after she turned the camera on reporters and requested a group photo.
The Fever’s first of three preseason games is Saturday afternoon in New York. Then, they open up the regular season at home against the Dallas Wings on May 9.
