Jim Morris remembered by local McDonald's
It's been two weeks since longtime Pacers Sports & Entertainment Vice Chairman and Indy leader Jim Morris passed away. How much did he impact the local community? Just look at a local McDonald's sign.
I was driving down Keystone Avenue recently, heading south toward downtown, when a local sign caught my attention.
It was the McDonald’s at 52nd and Keystone.
And instead of the franchise owner using three lines of a billboard on a very busy road to advertise their own product or a special, it was used to celebrate a live well-lived.
For Jim Morris.
Mr. Jim Morris. Rest in peace.
It’s been two weeks since the vice chairman of Pacers Sports & Entertainment passed away at 81. He was liked by everybody and was a unifier. He was instrumental in helping to create the downtown sports scene, including Indiana Sports Corp, which already has run major events like NBA All-Star Weekend, NFL Scouting Combine and last week, Big Ten football media day.
I appreciated seeing this — a local business owner devoting his space to highlight Jim Morris.
Well done.
