Larry Bird rejoins staff, attends Pacers' first 2023 draft workout

Larry Bird attended his first Pacers pre-draft workout in several years.

Larry Legend was back in Indiana and back at the Indiana Pacers facility on Friday.

The Pacers hosted six prospects to the St. Vincent Center for their first pre-draft workout leading up to the 2023 NBA Draft, set for June 22 in Brooklyn. And sitting there among the team’s front office was Larry Bird.

"Larry has been a consultant to basketball operations since the beginning of this past season,” head coach Rick Carlisle wrote in a text message to Fieldhouse Files. “It's always great to have him in the gym!”

Bird, 66, has been quiet and off the grid for the past few years.
