There's many Pacers staffers having an All-Star experience
Tyrese Haliburton will get a lot of shine in Sunday's NBA All-Star game, but there's many behind the scenes who have a special opportunity.
Tyrese Haliburton has had such busy schedule this weekend that he’s been referred to as ambassador and prom king.
But when Haliburton makes his second NBA All-Star appearance Sunday night — at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT — he won’t be the only Pacer on the big stage. There are dozens of staff members behind the scenes who will be working when Indy’s on the big stage for the 73rd NBA All-Star game.
Below is my unofficial list. And it doesn’t include obvious staff members like team security, building security, ushers, concessions personnel, etc.
Head athletic trainer Josh Corbeil and associate head athletic trainer Carl Eaton will be working with the Eastern Conference team. The Houston Rockets’ training staff will handle the West.
The East team is using the Pacers’ locker room while the West is in the visitors locker room.
Team doctors have been on site for every event throughout the weekend:Â Dr. John Abrams, Dr. Steve Samuels and Dr. Troy Roberson.
The team’s PA announcers will share in the duties. Troy Pepper will introduce the teams, then Shawn Sullivan will be heard over the microphone for the game.
Sitting next to them will be VP of Game Operations Dean Heaviland, an entertainment director once again.
He’s assisted by Doug Morgan, Jamie Russell and Alyssa Nelson.
Kurt Streblow is one of three game emcees.
Pacemates and Boomer are heavily involved, as you’d expect. High Octane Drumline is too.
The team’s stats crew will be on game duties at the scorer’s table.
Pacers ball boys will be in their usual roles.
Here’s a look inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse hours before tipoff.
Shout out for Dr. Samuels!
