Myles Turner excited to host first youth basketball camp in Indy
The Indiana Pacers center will hold his youth camp on Aug. 10 in Westfield, Ind.

Pacers center Myles Turner has been globetrotting this offseason, but he will return to Indianapolis in August to host his first-ever youth basketball camp in the city where he was drafted. That goes back to 2015, when the University of Texas product was the 11th overall pick.
“That’s something I’m excited about,” Turner said of his camp. “I’ve always had just my camps in Texas, but coming out here and growing that more (is exciting). Just keep on growing upon the things that make me me (this offseason).”
Who: For boys and girls 6-16
When: Thursday, August 10 from 4-8 p.m.
Where: Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield, Ind.
Cost: $153.74, including $3.75 service fee
Each camper will receive a team photo with Turner, a camp t-shirt and items from a sponsor.
Turner’s camp is less than four weeks after Tyrese Haliburton will host his on July 15 and 16 at The Factory D1 over in Speedway.
Turner’s annual camp in Dallas will be held on August 1st and 2nd. And it’s free.
For Turner, he’s had to spend his last two offseasons rehabbing rather than working on his game and improving in little areas. Those seasons were cut short and impacted his summers due to a toe and then a foot injury, respectively.
Where he made his largest leap was in the mental space. (Read more about that in my 1-on-1 convention with his father, David.)
Turner is coming off a career-best season in which he averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 54.8% from the field. He signed a contract extension with the Pacers during the season that runs through the 2024-25 season.
“Going into next season, it’s just such a refreshing thing knowing that I’ll be able to come in here and just work,” Turner said during his exit interview. “Not have to worry about what could possibly happen with trades, what could possibly happen in free agency or what the situation is going to be upstairs. All that’s alleviated from me personally so it’s a much easier free-flowing mindset than I’ve had in the past.”
