Oshae Brissett gets engaged
A lifetime contract for his girlfriend with his next NBA deal on deck.
Oshae Brissett is now engaged.
The Pacers forward proposed to his girlfriend, Tyra, Monday night at Nobu in Malibu. Both of them shared the news on Instagram.
It appears that day, June 5, was their one-year anniversary — which makes it even sweeter.
He wrote on Instagram: “You’ve opened my eyes to a life I could’ve never imagined, for that I’m forever grateful. To my beautiful fiancée! You are a star in my eyes, the most beautiful person inside and out and my BEST FRIEND!! We have each other forever and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Tyra you make me the luckiest man alive!”
Reaction from teammates:
Buddy Hield: Congratulations Bro ❤️
Bennedict Mathurin: YUUUR
Aaron Nesmith: Congrats brodie!!
Isaiah Jackson: Congrats family!!
Andrew Nembhard: 👀Congrats!
Jordan Nwora: Congrats my boy!!
Kendall Brown: Congrats bro🤘🏽
He’s close with his teammates and one of the most likable players on the team so it’s no surprise to see him receive so much love.
Appearing in 65 games, he averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season — and reliably played hard and did the dirty work whenever called upon.
Brissett, who turns 25 years old in a few weeks, now has an agreement on this lifetime contract. Up next will be a new professional deal.
He’s one of three Pacers that will become unrestricted free agents on July 1, along with veterans George Hill and James Johnson. The Pacers chose to exercise the final year of his contract one year ago rather than declining it and then signing him to a new contract. So as a result, he will be unrestricted and free to sign with any team.
Then, Brissett intends to be with Team Canada for the FIBA World Cup, which begins in late August. Teammate and best friend Tyrese Haliburton has already committed to play for Team USA.
