Pacers' 2024 NBA Summer League schedule set, begins July 12 vs Nets
All teams at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas are guaranteed five games; the Pacers will play every other day.
One day following the conclusion of the 2024 NBA Draft, the league announced the full schedule for summer league in Las Vegas. It’s evolved into a major event that is a combination of development, evaluation and entertainment.
All teams are scheduled for four games and then the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. But all 30 teams will play five games. The championship game will be played on Monday, July 22 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
A total of 76 games will be played from July 12-22 on the campus of UNLV, and every game will be available on a linear network as well as the ESPN app.
Summer Pacers Schedule
Friday, July 12 v Brooklyn Nets, 8 p.m. ET | Cox Pavilion | NBA TV
Sunday, July 14 v Minnesota Timberwolves, 5:30 p.m. | Cox Pavilion | NBA TV
Tuesday, July 16 at Phoenix Suns, 4 p.m. | Cox Pavilion | ESPNU
Thursday, July 18 at Denver Nuggets, 4:30 p.m. | Thomas & Mack | ESPN2
Saturday, July 20 vs Cleveland Cavaliers, 5 p.m. | Thomas & Mack | NBA TV
So their first three games will be played in Cox Pavilion, the auxiliary gym, as seen above. That’s preferred (by me and, I think, the team) because the focus is on basketball. It’s more of an intimate feel. Whereas over at Thomas & Mack, it feels like a big production.
The Pacers added forward Johnny Furphy (Kansas), guard Tristen Newton (UConn) and forward Enrique Freeman in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday. So you can expect to see those three on display.
And it’s likely that you’ll see last year’s picks, Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard, for at least a few games.
We saw Andrew Nembhard go from starring in summer league last July to playing a major role in the postseason this spring. Bennedict Mathurin was unable to do the same because of a shoulder injury. Both players are now attending Team Canada training camp.
Other possibilities include second-year players Isaiah Wong and Oscar Tshiebwe.
The Pacers will open rookie/free agent camp in one week at the Ascension St. Vincent practice facility.
Day one of Las Vegas Summer League will be highlighted by a double-header on ESPN in primetime: Lakers (Dalton Knecht, Bronny James) against Rockets (Reed Sheppard) at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by Hawks (and No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher) against Wizards (and No. 2 pick Alex Sarr) at 9:30 p.m. — both at Thomas & Mack Center.
Two notable local products entering the NBA: former Purdue center Zach Edey was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies and the Miami Heat selected IU’s Kel’el Ware.
I would love to see Lance get a chance with the Mad Ants. I love his defensive fundamentals and pride. I would love to see that permeate throughout the organization.
