Pacers begin final big road trip this season in Atlanta

They're away from Indy for 6 of their next 7 games, and there's a lot of familiarity between the Pacers and Hawks. Plus, Tony Bradley signs 10-day contract, Scot Pollard's cause, support for IU Indy.

Pacers face the Hawks twice in the next three nights in Atlanta.

The Indiana Pacers packed their bags, now on the road for six of their next seven games. But once they get through this 12-day stretch, they’re home free.

Because come March 19, after Indianapolis hosts the men’s and women’s Big Ten Basketball Tournaments, the Pacers will be at home for their final 11 of 15 games.

It all begins Thursday night in Atlanta against a Hawks team (28-34) that is on a season-long six-game homestand.

This team struggled in road games early on. However, after a 2-11 start in road games, they have since gone 13-4.

Now into March, the playoff picture is beginning to come into focus. The Pacers are 5-2 since the All-Star break. Over the last 26 games, the Pacers are averaging 119.1 points per game — +6.3 points per game — on 49.8% shooting.

Yet, there’s still plenty for them to improve upon in their goal to continue to rise up the standings. Just behind the Milwaukee Bucks in the standings, the Pacers have two critical meetings with their first-round opponent from last postseason approaching on March 11 and 15.

However, making it even more challenging, they will be on the second night of a back-to-back for each meeting.
