Pacers rookie Bennedict Mathurin officially signs endorsement deal with Adidas
The Pacers' top draft pick in 2022 signed a multi-year contract with Adidas.
Bennedict Mathurin, the No. 6 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, has signed a shoe and apparel deal with Adidas, the company announced on Thursday.
Although it is only now official, Mathurin has been wearing Adidas ever since training camp — as you can see in the photo above.
Mathurin, 20, spent the past two seasons wearing Nike while playing at the University of Arizona. And so I also found it interesting that Mathurin, along with Chicago Bulls forward Dalen Terry, his former teammate with the Wildcats, both switched to Adidas.
After being drafted in June, Mathurin wore Nike shoes — specifically, Kobe’s — in summer camp leading up to the Las Vegas Summer League.
Here are the shoes he wore on media day:
Nike announced their draft class signings at the beginning of the season, back in October, and Andrew Nembhard — the Pacers’ selection at No. 31 — was part of that group.
Mathurin is second among all rookies in scoring, only behind No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero (21.7 ppg), averaging 17.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He has also played in the most games among rookies at 29 having not missed a game this season.
