Five Former Pacers, Boom Players named to Team USA roster for World Cup Qualifying
James Wiseman, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Elfrid Payton, Dakota Mathias, and Terry Taylor highlight Indiana ties on the 12-man squad competing in Oceanside, California with USA Basketball.
Five players with ties to the Indiana Pacers and their G League affiliate, the Noblesville Boom, will come together to represent the United States.
USA Basketball announced its 12-man roster for the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament, and Indiana basketball fans will be familiar with nearly half of the roster.
James Wiseman, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Elfrid Payton, Dakota Mathias, and Terry Taylor were all named to the team, which will meet later this week in Oceanside, California, for training camp Feb. 20–25.
The remaining seven players are Malcolm Hill, Tevian Jones, Taevion Kinsey, Brandon Knight, David Roddy, Jaden Shackelford, and Jeremiah Tilmon.
The team will be coached by former Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas.
Last week, Team USA announced its 12-player roster on the women’s side, which includes Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston of the Indiana Fever. Stephanie White will also serve as an assistant coach on Kara Lawson’s staff.
Wiseman most recently played for the Pacers until Dec. 29, when his second 10-day contract expired. Robinson-Earl was waived on Dec. 11 to make room for Garrison Mathews, who remained with the team for just two weeks.
After training camp, Team USA will host games against the Dominican Republic on Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. ET and Mexico on March 1 at 7 p.m. ET at Frontwave Arena.
