With training camp one week away, the Pacers have solidified their roster and coaching staff for the 2026-27 season.
One of the last remaining questions was who would fill the assistant coaching role after Johnny Carpenter departed in July to join Taylor Jenkins’ first-year staff in Milwaukee.
Carpenter, a University of Virginia alum like Rick Carlisle and Jenny Boucek, enjoyed his one season with Indiana, but the opportunity with the Bucks was too good to pass up.
This time, the Pacers filled the vacancy from within.
The Pacers elevated Isaac Yacob to assistant coach, league sources told Fieldhouse Files. He joins Lloyd Pierce, Boucek and Jim Boylen in the group under Carlisle, who has enjoyed continuity among his coaching staff.
