Pacers guard Johnny Furphy suffers season-ending right knee injury
The second-year guard tore his right ACL after landing from a dunk Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

Pacers guard Johnny Furphy suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his right knee, the team announced.
Furphy underwent an MRI on his right knee Monday in New York City, which confirmed the diagnosis.
The injury occurred as Furphy landed from a ferocious right-handed dunk. He immediately clutched his right knee as he fell to the court at Scotiabank Arena — a moment that likely gave Pacers fans flashbacks to Jeremy Lamb. Victor Oladipo’s ruptured quad tendon also occurred against the Raptors.
Play was stopped with 2:48 remaining in the third quarter, and athletic trainers Josh Corbeil and Carl Eaton were immediately by Furphy’s side.
Teammates celebrated the dunk, then saw that Furphy was down in pain along the baseline. The mood quickly shifted — from head coach Rick Carlisle to Tyrese Haliburton and the rest of the bench.
“We’re not sure about Furphy’s situation,” Carlisle said Sunday after the 122-104 loss. “He’ll get testing tomorrow in New York and we’ll see where things are.”
Furphy appeared in 35 games this season, starting 21, and averaged 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
The Pacers (13-40) have two games remaining before the All-Star break: Tuesday at New York and Wednesday in Brooklyn.
