Pacers Mailbag: Roster evaluation, over/under on returning players, offseason dates and free agent targets

The NBA is on to the second round of the playoffs, but the Pacers are not participants for the third straight year. So let's answer your questions.

Me in Boston: The last time the Pacers were in the playoffs (non-bubble division). It was 2019 and they were swept by the Celtics.

Greg P: What are the important NBA dates for the Spring and Summer? Like lottery selection, combine, draft, camps, trades or signing periods, summer league all the way to the start of camp next Fall.

Hi Greg. Lottery teams are diving into the draft, gathering intel and evaluating their roster makeup right now. Because that’s about all they can do. In less than two weeks, however, lottery teams will know exactly where they’ll be drafting. So you can spend more time on certain players, talk trades, etc.

• Tuesday, May 16: Draft lottery held in Chicago

• Wednesday, May 17 to Friday, May 19: Draft combine in Chicago

• then… pre-draft workouts begin and team officials will head out west for agent workouts for their players

• Thursday, June 1: Start of NBA Finals

• Monday, June 12: Draft early entry entrant withdrawal deadline

• Thursday, June 22: NBA Draft in Brooklyn

• Friday, June 30: Start of free agency

• July 7-17: Las Vegas Summer League
