Pacers Notebook: Season nearing end, 17 players out in Brooklyn, Siakam ineligible, Haliburton update, Carlisle away from team

As Indiana wraps up the 2025-26 season, the Pacers face a heavily depleted roster in Brooklyn, Tyrese Haliburton makes progress in his recovery, and coach Rick Carlisle will miss the next two games.

Good afternoon and welcome back to Fieldhouse Files. It’s officially Masters Week, and this is where a second screen is critical. My iPad is opened up to the Masters app all weekend long.

The tradition. The pageantry. The purity. And elite golf.

It’s special.

Meanwhile, can you believe the Pacers’ 2025-26 season will wrap up this weekend? That’s right … three games in four days, then it’s over.

By April 13th, there will be locker clean-outs and exit interviews — then it’s on to the offseason. In comparison, last season went until the very last day possible, June 22nd. That’s 10 weeks longer.

(May 10th is the key date, when the draft lottery will be held.)

What it means is that this whole group — coaches and staff members included — will get a much-needed extended break after runs to the conference finals and NBA Finals over the past two seasons.

This season has worn on everybody. From several injuries in the first exhibition game to having to utilize emergency hardship contracts (many times) in order to have enough players on the active roster. This Pacers season has resembled a G League season — where the only constant is change.
