Pacers sign Samson Johnson and Gabe McGlothan to Exhibit 10 deals
The Boom, debuting in Noblesville with a new home and branding, continue assembling talent before the 2025-26 G League season.
With NBA training camps opening in less than a week, the Indiana Pacers continue to make strategic signings to bolster their G League affiliate.
On Tuesday, the Pacers waived R.J. Felton and Steven Ashworth — one day after signing them — a procedural step required by the league. They then signed center Samson Johnson and forward Gabe McGlothan to Exhibit 10 contracts, which will allow them to play with the Noblesville Boom for the 2025-26 season.
The G League draft isn’t until next month, after NBA camps, but that hasn’t stopped Boom GM Chris Taylor and assistant GM Tim Brown Jr. from working on roster construction ahead of the team’s inaugural season under its new name, branding, and home.
All home games will now be played inside The Arena at Innovation Mile.
Johnson, a four-year player at UConn, was with the Pacers for Las Vegas Summer League. Last season, he started all 34 games for the Huskies, averaging 19.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-10 center is from Togo and speaks four languages: French, English, Wolof, and Ewe, his native tongue.
McGlothan spent five years playing college basketball, including the past four at Grand Canyon, and was acquired on August 1 via a three-team trade in the G League. The 6-foot-7 forward came from the Grand Rapids Gold in exchange for Pedro Bradshaw, who went to the Salt Lake City Stars.
Last season with the Gold, McGlothan averaged 8.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and was First-Team All-WAC in 2024 at Grand Canyon.
