Pacers Summer League Game 1: Several debuts, an emphasis on defense and veterans shine in win
Jannero Pargo's polo was soaked after a postgame celebration for a 91-83 win over the Wizards and his first as coach of the Summer Pacers.
LAS VEGAS — Jannero Pargo just helped guide the Indiana Pacers Summer League team to a 91-83 win in their opening game. He walked out of the locker room and was headed to speak with local media, but there was a problem.
Gone was the team-issue polo and he was only wearing a white tank top.
That’s not enough when you’re about to be on camera and talk with reporters. It’s like chewing gum during an interview. So with the guidance of Krissy Myers from media relations, he turned around and returned a few minutes later wearing a black team dri-fit t-shirt.
Much better.
“There was so much water I couldn’t even see where it came from,” he said. “Oh my goodness. All cold water, like they put ice in it.”
