Whitmore, a 6-7 wing out of Villanova, will be the best prospect the Pacers have hosted thus far. Watch what he had to say at the draft combine.

Cam Whitmore, wearing a gray zip hoodie, talks with reporters at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine.
Cam Whitmore is a projected top 10 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Villanova wing c is coming to Indianapolis on Thursday for a pre-draft workout for the Pacers.

Whitmore is a 6-foot-7, 235-pound forward who averaged 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game during his freshman season. He’s the highest-ranked prospect the Pacers have brought in so far. And his max vertical leap (40.50) ranks third in his draft class.

The Pacers are set up to have a very busy June leading up to the draft on June 22. Having five picks — 7, 26, 29, 32, 55 — will do that.

That gives them a wide array of options and encourages agents to send players to Indy. In a typical year, when they’re drafting at 20 and 50, they’re more limited in the players they’re able to host.

Thursday’s workout is notably just one player and not six. That’s usually done for one of two reasons: an agent request or a date becomes free on the player’s schedule.
