This day, one year ago, began with so much promise.

For fans and for the players.

The possibility of the Indiana Pacers coming out on top, lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the first time in franchise history, and returning to downtown Indianapolis to celebrate with a summer parade.

But it never happened.
