Another sellout crowd (17,274) was in attendance for this one, the final meeting of their season series despite it being Game 22/40 of the season. It also aired on CBS.
The Fever raced ahead 10-1 over the first four-plus minutes, prompting a Liberty timeout. They led by six after 1 and by one at halftime. They overcame an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter and closed the game on a 19-7 run.
Caitlin Clark became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double — and the also the first Fever player in franchise history with one.
Aliyah Boston finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, NaLyssa Smith had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Kelsey Mitchell scored 14.
The Fever only scored 31 points combined in the second and third quarters, but they used a huge fourth-quarter surge, led by the defense, to outscore the Liberty 28-16.
They dominated the glass 41-31 and kept Breanna Stewart to just 14 points, six rebounds and six assists. The Liberty shot 23.8% from distance.
It’s the Fever’s sixth win in nine games. They’re 7-4 after the brutal 2-9 stretch to begin this year.
