Reggie Miller was supposed to call Pacers-Knicks. But he's under the weather.
Reggie Miller was scheduled to be the TNT analyst for Pacers-Knicks, but was swapped out late, replaced by Grant Hill. Plus, an update on Myles Turner and it being "Fever Night."
UPDATE: Reggie Miller was set to call the game, but was replaced by Grant Hill due to being "under the weather," a TNT spokesman told Fieldhouse Files.
Reggie Miller is back home again in Indiana.
The Hall of Famer, who spent his entire career with the Indiana Pacers, will be back inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse Tuesday night to be on the national TV broadcast of a rivalry he’ll forever be tied to: Pacers vs Knicks.
The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET and air on TNT with Miller joined by Ian Eagle (play-by-play) and Stephanie Ready (sideline reporter).
It is a TNT exclusive so FanDuel Sports Network cannot show the game.
This is the Pacers’ second consecutive appearance on national TV after their game last Saturday in Los Angeles was picked up by ESPN after it was initially expected to be Luka Doncic’s Lakers debut.
It was not. And the Pacers (29-22) lost 124-117 after falling behind 44-22 after the first quarter. Still, they are 13-4 in 2025.
The Pacers were scheduled for nine national TV games before the season — up from one last season — including four on TNT. This is appearance No. 2 of the season.
Of note, my friend Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports reported two weeks ago that Miller will join NBC next season to be their top game analyst.
Before then, Miller will join Brian Anderson on the broadcast of the NBA All-Star game Sunday on TNT — from the Chase Center in San Francisco.
As for tonight’s game: Myles Turner is listed as questionable on the injury report with a cervical strain, but head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that he participated in parts of practice on Monday and has made progress over the last few days.
For the Knicks — who also lost on Saturday, at home to the Celtics — Josh Hart is probable and OG Anunoby (right foot sprain) is questionable.
Meanwhile, Jahlil Okafor will be on the Pacers’ bench for the first time as well.
The 2015 lottery pick has spent this season with their G League club, the Indiana Mad Ants, but he’s getting an opportunity with the Pacers this week in the form of a 10-day deal. It also comes with a nice pay bonus as well.
This marks his return to the NBA after four years, and since he tore his Achilles two years ago.
One More Thing…
The game promotion is “Fever Night” and they will be celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day with at least three Fever players in attendance for the game.
Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull, both of whom are spending a couple months in Miami playing in Unrivaled, are scheduled to be at The Fieldhouse, along with recent signee DeWanna Bonner.
They will be taking photos with fans outside section 3 from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The doors open at 6 p.m., 90 minutes prior to tip.
