Source: Indiana Fever adding forward Katie Lou Samuelson in free agency
Free agency is underway in the WNBA and the Fever are adding another winner to the roster.
The Indiana Fever have reached agreement with forward Katie Lou Samuelson on a free-agent deal, a league source confirmed to Fieldhouse Files.
The team is building around Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, assuming the sharpshooter leaves Iowa and enters her name in the WNBA draft.
The Fever hold the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft for the second consecutive year.
Samuelson, 26, sat out the 2023 season to have her first child. In 2022 with the LA Sparks, she started in 29 of 32 games and averaged a career-high 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
She is a good fit for this roster and for what general manger Lin Dunn is building.
More on Samuelson:

Already in free agency, the Fever added forward Damiris Dantas, the 12th overall pick in 2012 taken by the Minnesota Lynx.
Last season in Minneapolis, she averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while starting in all 15 games that she played.
