Tracking the Pacers' 2022 summer signings
Immediately following the draft, teams get to work reaching deals with undrafted players for summer league and training camp.
The 2022 NBA Draft wrapped up around 12:30 a.m. ET Friday morning in Brooklyn, but a lot of work was just beginning for teams.
For Pacers vice president of player personnel Ryan Carr and other executives across the NBA, they spent a few hours lining up players for summer league, which runs July 7-17 in Las Vegas.
These players will usually sign Exhibit 10 contracts, which are essentially training camp deals without any guarantees.
Before the draft, some players will have verbal agreements with teams should they not get drafted — and that’s especially true for two-way contracts, which are much more valuable than Exhibit 10s. Two-ways can be for one or two years — and be worth up to about $500,000.
In comparison, a typical salary for a G League player is $37,000 per year.
Each deal below is an Exhibit 10 unless noted.
Current Pacers expected to participate in at least a part of summer league:
Chris Duarte
Isaiah Jackson
Terry Taylor
Duane Washington Jr.
Plus their three draft selections:
Andrew Nembhard
Kendall Brown
