Tyrese Haliburton to host third annual Indy youth basketball camp June 15-16, 2024
Haliburton, the face of the Pacers, treasured attending camps as a kid. He's already set the date for his youth basketball camp this summer.
Indiana Pacers two-time All-Star Tyrese Haliburton will host a basketball camp for kids in central Indiana for the third straight summer.
Haliburton’s ProCamp is set to be held on June 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 1-p.m. each day at the Aletto Family Sports Center in Carmel, Ind. The two-day camp is open to boys and girls in grades 1-8 with a focus on fundamentals, games and fun.
The cost is $249, however, Fieldhouse Files subscribers can use my promo code “Scott” at checkout to save 10%. (Click here for more details and to sign up.)
Each camper will receive: a team photo, autograph, and camp t-shirt — in addition to working directly with Haliburton. And in previous years, some of his Pacers teammates and coaches have stopped by.
I’ve attended his camp in each of the first two years and Haliburton is actively involved. He shared stories, made his way around to each station and made sure the kids were having a good time.
Because he remembers being in their position as a kid in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Those camps helped him fall in love with the game.
“You can see the sparkle in a kid’s eye sometimes when you talk to them,” Haliburton said at his camp last year in July before joining Team USA in Las Vegas for mini-camp. “That’s just the coolest thing.
“Some kids here, I think they like watching basketball more than they like playing sometimes, but they’re just excited to be here. I think that’s the fun part about being a kid: You get to experiment with different sports and see what you like and what you don’t like. And they’re just having fun out here.”
Last month, Haliburton was one of 41 players named to the Team USA player pool ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. If asked, Haliburton has made abundantly clear that he will play.
So it’s notable that he’s planning ahead and holding his camp in June, several weeks before players report to Las Vegas for USA Basketball training camp. That will conclude with a showcase game against Team Canada on July 10.
Here’s a look inside last year’s camp when Haliburton took on campers.
