New uniform numbers for Pacers acquisitions George Hill and Jordan Nwora
Hill will be No. 7, Nwora No. 13. The two were acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks at the trade deadline.
George Hill has worn No. 3 for the majority of his career, including his five seasons previously with the Pacers from 2011-16 and while at IUPUI from 2004-08.
But because Chris Duarte is already wearing No. 3, Hill will be No. 7 during his second stint with the franchise, according to the team game notes.
Third-year forward Jordan Nwora, 24, will continue to be No. 13.
He wore No. 33 at the University of Louisville — and that’s clearly not available in Indy with Myles Turner.
The Pacers (25-31) have 26 regular-season games remaining this season.
Hill and Nwora were just in Los Angeles yesterday with the Bucks and have been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns. But they are scheduled to talk with local reporters for the first time after the game.
They were acquired in a multi-team trade on Thursday at the trade deadline that also included three second-round picks in tow with him, providing the front office with future draft assets as they continue to build the roster.
Veteran Serge Ibaka was the third player acquired in the deal. However, he will be waived and become available for the buyout market, a league source told Fieldhouse Files.
Hill, as you are probably aware of, is from Indianapolis — growing up on 34th Street and attending Broad Ripple High School. He was inducted into the IUPUI Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
And in 2013, he was part of a song remix entitled “All Gold Everything.”
i can't believe they are keeping Hill, this is absurd.
