BELLEAIR, Fla. — Hello again from Pelican Golf Club in southern Florida. Here’s my report on Caitlin Clark's day at The ANNIKA Pro-Am.
The event was held at Pelican Golf Club and she was first off the tee on Wednesday — right at 7 a.m. ET. She played the front nine with world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda, then the back nine with Annika Sorenstam. It was a shamble — play the best ball of the group off the tee, then play your own ball — and she posted at least two birdies.
Ticket sales for the day were up 1200%. Usually there's just a few patrons following Pro-Am groups; Clark attracted more than a thousand.
