Why Fever players — including all three All-Stars — visited the Indiana State Fair
After practice Tuesday, while still on break for the Olympics, Fever players helped open a new outdoor basketball court that was installed at the Indiana State Fair.
The Indiana Fever are still on the Olympic break, but several members of the team spent time on Tuesday at the Indiana State Fair.
Can you believe it’s already time for the fair?
The team’s three 2024 WNBA All-Stars — Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell — along with Erica Wheeler were at the fair to help Pacers Sports & Entertainment promote something special.
A new basketball court was installed permanently on the state fairgrounds. It’s unclear if/how it can be accessed and played on beyond fair time, but the outdoor court will eventually have team logos painted on.
It was a big enough deal that Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb was on hand for the announcement.
A friend of mine captured this image of the Fever riding around the fair on Tuesday in a golf cart. We talked to Clark after practice, but before this adventure. She’s from Iowa, which proudly has one of the best state fairs in the country.
The Indiana State Fair runs from August 2 through the 18th. The Fever, meanwhile, are on Olympic break until August 16. They resume action then, at home, against the Phoenix Mercury.
