Fever lose two players in WNBA Expansion Draft
Portland selects Chloe Bibby, Toronto takes Kristy Wallace as Indiana now turns attention to a pivotal free agency period starting with Kelsey Mitchell.

The WNBA’s two newest franchises finally have their initial rosters.
Portland and Toronto officially entered the league this offseason, and until April 3 were unsure who would be suiting up for their teams. That changed Friday afternoon with the expansion draft.
Toronto won a coin flip last week and chose to select ahead of Portland — and sixth overall — in the 2026 WNBA Draft. As a result, Portland held the first pick in the expansion draft and selected Minnesota Lynx forward Bridget Carleton.
The Toronto Tempo followed by selecting Julie Allemand from the Los Angeles Sparks. Allemand originally entered the league in 2016 as the 33rd overall pick by the Indiana Fever.
The league’s other 13 teams were allowed to protect up to five players. Prior to the draft, the Chicago Sky reached agreements with both expansion teams on trades to ensure none of their players would be selected.
