'It's enormous!': Caitlin Clark featured on largest-ever banner on JW Marriott Indy
The Nike ad — spanning 30 floors and over 113,000 square feet — took nine days to install ahead of WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Caitlin Clark has already shattered dozens of records early in her basketball career.
Now she can add another — this time off the court.
Clark — the face of women’s basketball and the former No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft — is now featured on the largest banner ever installed on the east-facing side of the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
The massive Nike advertisement comes ahead of WNBA All-Star Weekend, which is being held in Indianapolis for the first time in league history. Clark was the top vote-getter for the second straight year.
“Anytime you get on the JW in Indianapolis, that's a big deal,” Clark said. “That's prime real estate for ads. It’s certainly really cool. And we’re obviously really excited to have All-Stars (in Indy).”
The banner is one of more than a dozen printed and installed by Sport Graphics, an Indianapolis-based company. (Click here for a full gallery)
This particular one spans 113,500 square feet.
The JW Marriott is 34 stories tall — and this ad stretches 30 of them.
To visualize it: the full banner is long enough to fit the length of three basketball courts. Installation took nine days.
Clark’s first reaction to seeing it: “It’s enormous! It’s a little overwhelming. I mean, you look up there — it’s pretty big. But it’s certainly cool.”
It’s not her first appearance on the JW either.
For years, the tower primarily featured logos, brackets and branding for major sporting events. But that changed more than a year ago when an image of Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton appeared for NBA All-Star Weekend 2024, followed by Clark in a Gatorade campaign after she was drafted by the Fever.
Then came another major moment: a full-tower image of Taylor Swift. It was seen by millions and millions of her diehard fans.
Now, Clark has returned to the building in Nike’s latest campaign.
And in many circles, she’s already appropriately referred to as Taylor Swift Lite.
