Caitlin Clark’s favorite Gatorade flavor is back — and Tyrese Haliburton surprised her with it
Gatorade’s Rain Berry flavor returns in March, with Clark becoming the first athlete to try it after a surprise reveal from Haliburton. Limited-edition Clark bottles will be available Feb. 19.
It may be the WNBA offseason, but Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark continues to make business moves off the court.
Gatorade is bringing back Clark’s favorite flavor, Rain Berry, and tapped her to help promote its return. The revival comes as part of the company’s lower sugar lineup, set to roll out nationwide in March.
Clark first teased the comeback on Instagram, posting a photo from what appeared to be a gym session. The bottle — labeled “Not for retail sale” — featured Rain Berry branding along with “Caitlin’s Favorite Flavor” across the top and an image of Clark in her Fever uniform. Her caption read: “the greatest flavor ever made.”
It also didn’t slip past me that the day she posted it was Valentine’s Day, a day to celebrate the one you love.
Then on Tuesday, Gatorade shared a video of Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton surprising Clark during a photo shoot, revealing that Rain Berry was officially returning. She became the first athlete to taste it again.
“Try it,” Haliburton said. “Tell me if it tastes the same.”
“Even better than I remembered,” Clark replied with a smile.
At the photo shoot, Clark wore a Nike (of course) pink long-sleeve crop top, black shorts and purple Kobe sneakers — colors that complemented the green Rain Berry label on the bottle.
The two have grown close since Clark was drafted by the Fever nearly two years ago. Both share Midwest roots, played college basketball in Iowa and now serve as lead guards and franchise cornerstones in Indianapolis.
They have also dealt with injuries over the past eight months, another common thread in their careers.
To mark the comeback, Gatorade is releasing 2,200 limited-edition Rain Berry bottles featuring commemorative Clark labels.
Each bottle will cost $22 — a nod to her No. 22 jersey, which stems from her Jan. 22 birthday — and will be available at Gatorade.com beginning Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. ET ahead of the broader March release.
The collaboration connects two of the city’s biggest basketball stars — and is the latest moment in the national spotlight for Clark.
