Inside Pacers practice ahead of Game 6 in Indy | Photos & Videos
Before the Pacers host the Thunder in a must-win game, they had a film session and then a 30-minute walk-through Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Watch them shoot around, then answer questions.
The Indiana Pacers face an elimination game Thursday as they trail the OKC Thunder 3-2 in the NBA Finals. The health of Tyrese Haliburton — a game-time decision due to a right calf strain — is the biggest storyline entering tonight’s game (8:30 ET, ABC).
They’ll need Pascal Siakam and the rest of the Pacers’ backcourt to up their play, whether Haliburton is out there or not. They also need to hit more outside shots.
It starts defensively, too, adjusting coverages so they can be more productive on the offensive end. When they score 111 points this postseason, they win. It’s also Bennedict Mathurin’s 23rd birthday, so he’ll be extra juiced up for this one.
More than it being a massive moment for this team and the franchise, it’s also the final home game of the season.
If the Pacers win and extend the series, it all will be decided in Oklahoma City.
“Want to send them out the right way,” said Myles Turner, who has ‘Turner’s Block’ fan section at The Fieldhouse. “They've been looking forward to this for a long time.
“I expect it to be the best crowd we've had all season and honestly, just in my years here. With the moment, what it is, it's not every day you get to go to an NBA Finals game. Something you can tell your kids about one day. History, literally, in the making. I expect a great environment. It's going to be a lot of fun.”
As always, I will host a live postgame show over on YouTube once postgame interviews are over. (Probably around midnight ET.)
