Tyrese Haliburton's comeback begins Oct. 7 back at Iowa State
The Pacers' All-Star point guard says he’s healthy and ready for the season as his first game since tearing his Achilles will come at Hilton Coliseum, where he played two seasons for Iowa State.
The first chance to see Tyrese Haliburton back on a basketball court in more than a year will come in a place that is very special to the Pacers’ All-Star point guard.
So special, that the Pacers allowed for Haliburton to make the announcement.
The Pacers will open the 2026 preseason on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. ET against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a neutral-site game played at Hilton Coliseum, home of Iowa State basketball.
That will be his first game in a Pacers uniform in 472 days, since he suffered a torn right Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
He underwent surgery the next day.
Haliburton played two seasons in Ames, Iowa, from 2018-20, and then he was part of the 2020 Draft Class that did not get the full experience due to COVID-19.
