This is the first time in a long time that I have been excited for the Pacer's future. I was so worried that another trade deadline was going to pass with nothing to show for it. I loved Sabonis, but this deal is too good. On the other hand, I feel terrible where Sabonis landed but hope he can find a way to be happy.

I think the Pacers made out well. You hate to include Domas, but the reality is he's under contract two more years whereas Haliburton is just 21 and fills a MAJOR need at point guard.

I would have been ok for this trade if it were Turner going out. Pacers really need to still move Turner and Goga this week. This is a worst case scenario— Sabonis gone and those two remain on the roster.

If you move both, you don't have a true center ready to go right now. Isaiah Jackson may spend more time playing the 4, but is young and unproven. The next likely deal is moving Rubio's expiring deal. Then, maybe a secondary player like Torrey Craig back to Phoenix. That's been talked about.

Thinking more about it, I’m not sold on Goga’s upside or game smarts. But he should be the starter (even if they don’t move Turner) for the rest of the season to see if he might be a keeper. And if he is, then that’s one less thing to to need to draft/ trade for.
