Sophie Cunningham is never at a loss for words.

Her joy for life and love of basketball shine through in every interview. She doesn’t mind telling it like it is, sharing exactly what’s on her mind.

She has a lot to say — and now a new platform to say it.

The Indiana Fever guard agreed to join USA Sports as a contributor for the 2026 WNBA season, her eighth playing in the league. The network agreed to an 11-year media rights agreement with the WNBA last September to air at least 50 games per season, including some postseason games.

Wednesday nights will be USA Sports’ big night, featuring a pair of marquee games each week. And throughout the season, Cunningham will occasionally join remotely.

Cunningham made her debut on the “WNBA on USA Pregame Show” Wednesday evening. She joined host Elle Duncan and analysts Renee Montgomery and Chamique Holdsclaw — all of whom were in the USA Sports studio ahead of a doubleheader on the network.

It was much more than a five-minute segment or two for Cunningham. She was included in the entire pregame show, though she was the only one not in studio.

“It’s keeping the main thing the main thing, and that’s basketball,” she said of the opportunity before the season. “But at the end of the day, I’m talking about basketball. I watch all the games, I’m focused on the scout. And so it’s a really cool kind of player perspective of kind of getting the insight of what we think and what we see. And so Draymond (Green) has done a phenomenal job at that. Chiney (Ogwumike) has done a phenomenal job at that, and I’m just dipping my toes into it.
