Sophie Cunningham joining USA Sports as contributor for 2026 WNBA season
Cunningham will contribute to select studio shows and digital content as her schedule allows, adding to her growing media presence.
Sophie Cunningham will be spending more time on the microphone this upcoming WNBA season.
Cunningham announced on Instagram late Tuesday that she’s joining USA Sports as a contributor for the 2026 season.
A league source confirmed the news to Fieldhouse Files and added that she will contribute as her playing schedule allows.
The role is similar to those held by Draymond Green with TNT and Caitlin Clark with NBC — active players who also work as broadcasters.
Cunningham is comfortable on camera and has previously done on-air work for Phoenix Suns broadcasts in the offseason. She was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019 and spent her first six seasons in Phoenix.
Last summer, Cunningham launched the podcast “Show Me Something” with West Wilson. The show has nearly 50,000 subscribers on YouTube, and Lexie Hull appeared as a guest last week.
Cunningham hired 3 Arts Entertainment for off-court representation in January, according to Sports Business Journal.

Cunningham, 29, was acquired by the Indiana Fever one year ago and appeared in 30 games before suffering a season-ending MCL tear in her right knee on Aug. 17 in Connecticut.
She is an unrestricted free agent and the negotiation period begins Wednesday (April 8). The Fever extended qualifying offers to Kelsey Mitchell and Hull on Monday.
Cunningham was back in Indianapolis on Monday for the men’s NCAA championship game.

In addition to providing analysis on games and the league, you’ll see Cunningham in unique segments and special content across USA Sports’ studio show and social media, a source said.
Last September, USA Sports reached an 11-year media rights agreement with the WNBA to televise at least 50 games per season, including select postseason games. Wednesday nights will feature a pair of marquee games.
Tamika Catchings, a Hall of Famer and former Fever star, will serve as a game analyst. Studio coverage will be hosted by Elle Duncan and Paris Lawson.
The WNBA Draft is set for April 13, with training camp opening on April 19.
