Tyrese Haliburton is fitting right in with USA Basketball

Haliburton is a connector and facilitator on the court. And in his short time with the National Team, it didn't take long for him to mesh. Plus, a big contingent from the Pacers on hand.

LAS VEGAS — Tyrese Haliburton spent Tuesday afternoon on the Blue Team. He was in the same jersey color as LeBron James, so as USA Basketball tries different lineup combinations, playing alongside James is always a good thing.

It’s even more meaningful because James is Haliburton’s basketball idol.

On top of that, Haliburton nailed two free throws to end practice. The guys were thrilled because several others missed shots, causing them to run down-and-backs.

Before the entire NBA descends on Las Vegas Friday for the start of NBA Summer League, which runs from July 12-22, Team USA is ramping up its preparation for the Paris Olympics. It’s just two weeks away.

Until then, USA coaches arrived to town on July 3rd and the players reported a few days later. By Saturday, July 6th, they hit the court running with their first of four practices leading up to an exhibition game Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena (10:30 p.m. ET, FS1) against the Canadian Olympic Team, which includes Andrew Nembhard.
